After a brief hiatus last year the Miami boat show (now The Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show), is back in full force. Now, the show runs from Wednesday to Sunday. This year it will run from February 16-20. You can find the show at five venues around the city, including the new Miami Beach Convention Center.

You can see many of the smaller family boats on the ground so that you can enjoy the show while you look at new models like bay boats, pontoon boats, and center console fishing boats. There will also be a few models that showcase out-of-the box thinking. After you're done, you can move on to the larger yachts. Here's a list of new models we are excited to see at MIBS 20,22.

Sunseeker Predator 65

Let's take a look at Sunseeker’s latest model, which the well-known builder will debut at the Miami International Boat Show in January. The sleek and sporty new sedan-style cruiser has a modern carbon fibre hull and an open yacht feeling. This vessel was built over the same hull as the Sunseeker 65 Sport Yacht. It is a single-level version with more emphasis on cruising and fishing. Standardly, she has 3 staterooms and can hold a tender and water toys. She also has a sweet hydraulic swimming platform with lower steps to create a luxurious beach club that provides easy access to the ocean.

NauticStar 249 Bay

2022-Nauticstar-249-Bay

The NauticStar 249 Bay is a compact fishing boat that you should consider. The center console is compact in size, with a 13-gallon, 30-gallon fore- and a 28-gallon bow box. Bow seating can also double as a casting platform. You'll find angling heaven when you add fold-down jump seats and elevated fishing chairs to the transom. You'll find rod holders all over the boat, rocket launchers on T-top and rod storage under the gunwale so you don't have to worry until the action starts.

You can bring up to nine friends, although it's unlikely you would want to. You can have a large group of people on the bow, where you can cast or celebrate the catch. Flip-up backrests allow for everyone to be comfortable. The 249 Bay's single 300-hp outboard draws 24 inches. This boat is able to go anywhere in the bay, river, or lagoon.

Beneteau Antares 8

2022-Beneteau-Antares-8

Beneteau's perennial favourite is a great choice for cruising and less fishing. The Antares 8 measures in at just 27 feet LOA and has a host of cruising features that the entire family will enjoy. The Antares 8 has a fully interior, including an inside helm station and a dinette. There is also a mini-galley that houses a fridge and single burner cooktop (electric or gas). Check out the enclosed head and sleeping arrangements for weekending.

The helm is located inside to starboard and has a single seat, one multifunction display and an opening side window. There's also a sunroof above to let in the outside. If the weather is perfect, you can relax outside or dine outdoors in the cockpit. There are seating for six around the folding table and a sunbed at the bow. Although the Antares 8 has been a popular boat, they have added lounge and stowage space to make it more comfortable and faster.

You don't have to live with the idea that you're just cruising. If you're an angler, you can "fishify" your Antares 8 to cast to your heart's content by adding a tackle station, rod holders and a fish box.

Sea-Doo Switch Pontoon

Since a few years, pontoons have been the fastest growing segment of boating. They've evolved dramatically. You'll find fishing, luxury, and wakesurfing boats today, but the Sea-Doo Switch is the most innovative pontoon design. The Switch, which is the first pontoon model by Sea-Doo (a PWC manufacturer), is a mix of both the two concepts.

The Switch is available in sizes 13-21 feet and can be equipped for watersports and cruising. It's different in the way it is driven. The Switch can be operated with handlebars instead of a wheel and a Rotax jet engine rather than an outboard motor. Sea-Doo's LinQ system allows you to personalize the design by changing the arrangement of modular furniture and adding gear. You can customize the boat by adding a cooler, sport mirror or stowage container, as well as a wakeboard holder and cooler. You can transport up to nine people depending on the model. This party starts at just $18,000.

Aquila 28 Molokai

2022-Aquila-28-Molokai-2048x1536

This boat was named after Molokai, a Hawaiian island in the middle Pacific. It is known for being one of the most beautiful islands on the planet. The Aquila Molokai's purpose is to provide power on two hulls. The 28 Molokai, which is nearly 31 feet in length, was inspired by similar designs and layouts on Hawaiian watercraft. She is designed for island hopping in rough waters and has a central console that offers tons of fishing features.

Anglers have the option to add gunwale rod holders and blue LED lighting. The Molokai design is versatile and can be used for more than just fishing. There are two layout options available: a cuddy cabin or a central console. A towing pylon, tank holders, or a table between your bow seats can all be added for watersports and entertaining.

Kirk Clark designed the Molokai with the intention of tackling the ocean. The Molokai has twin-hulled stability and excellent fuel efficiency. To reduce noise and pounding, the ride is cushioned. The driver is protected by the wraparound windshield. In addition to the dual 12-inch Raymarine Axiom multifunction displays, the Mercury 200-hp outboards offer plenty of power and speed. The 28 Molokai can take you to many places and do many things.

Schaefer V33

The new Schaefer V33 Walk-around is a great choice if you are looking for a luxurious ride. It can be used as a superyacht tender, but also allows for family boating and commuter work at the lake cabin. You can have the boat equipped with one or two Volvo diesel inboards, or twin 300-hp Mercury Verado Outboards and joystick controls.

The sleek helm features an integrated hardtop, tinted windshield, and space for twin multi-function displays. While most entertaining takes place on deck, the cuddy cabin has a convertible bed and an enclosed head. Weekending is possible. The summer kitchen is located outside, behind the helm seats. The kitchen has a sink and a cooktop as well as a refrigerator and ample storage for provisions. You can enjoy a meal with your friends at the forecourt dinette, which has a fold-out table. Or you can take advantage of the sunbed on the front.

The V33 is capable of accommodating up to 12 people on day trips and can be towed with the optional twin-axel trailer.

Hobie Mirage iTrek Series

We've only looked at small powerboats so far. But the new Hobie series will give you the power. The iTrek craft can be described as a combination boat and paddleboard, but it's all fun. The series includes three models: the iTrek 11 (single), iTrek 14 Double (double) and iTrek Fiesta (4 quad). These inflatable boats combine a kayak with a board. These inflatable boats are lightweight and can be easily folded down so they can be stored in your garage. All of them work with Hobie's MirageDrive Technology, which you pedal with your legs.

All three models come with paddles and pumps, as well as elevated seats. The iTrek 11 can be used as a single kayak when seated. However, if you want to do some upper body exercises, you can stand up and use the paddle to move around on this super-stable "board". The iTrek 14 Duo is a variation of the original concept, but it's wider and more stable for better tracking and stability. This version comes with two seats so you can paddle side-by-side with a friend. The iTrek Fiesta adds 4 seats to make it a great party. There are two people at the front and two behind, with eight legs to keep you moving. The two front seats can be turned so that everyone faces each other. There is also a Yeti cooler in the middle. This boat can hold four people and costs less than $5,400

These are just some of the boats that we are excited about for 2022. The Miami show offers four days of outdoor fun, where you can enjoy hands-on testing, in-water demonstrations, contests, prizes, and live entertainment. Make this your destination.

Beneteau Oceanis 34.1

Beneteau-Oceanis-34-1-yacht

This new entry from Beneteau's 35-foot range is for you if sailing is your passion. Marc Lombard's Beneteau 34.1 is larger and has a greater sail area, which makes it more efficient. A 334-square foot mainsail and an 197-square foot-jib make up the basic set of sails. You can add a larger, 280-square foot genoa and additional winches. A bowsprit serves as an attach point for downwind sailings. There are three types of keels available: deep draft, shoal and swing. These keels can be used for outstanding upwind work. Standard features include twin wheels and rudders. The transom can be dropped to create a swim platform.

This compact model sailboat can accommodate three cabins, including a master forward cabin and twin cabins aft. In a pinch, you can also sleep two additional crew members in the salon. Drop-leaf tables can be converted to seat four people for dinner. There is also a fold-up navigation station on the port side. This compact, but well-equipped package is ideal for small families or couples who want to cruise the coast.
